What to write in a Christmas card
A little thought goes a long way
The best Christmas card messages sound like you. A few warm words, a shared memory or a little joke can turn a card into something they will want to keep.
For family
“Wishing you a Christmas full of cosy moments, lovely food and all your favourite people. Sending lots of love.”
“Christmas is even more special with you in it. Thank you for another year of love, laughter and looking after us.”
For friends
“Here’s to festive catch-ups, too many chocolates and another year of making memories together. Merry Christmas!”
“So grateful to have you in my life. Hope your Christmas is as lovely as you are.”
For someone you won’t see
“We may not be together this Christmas, but you are very much in our thoughts. Sending love from our home to yours.”
When Christmas feels difficult
A gentle message can mean more than a cheerful greeting. Try: “Thinking of you this Christmas and sending you lots of love. There is no pressure to reply.” Keep it simple and avoid telling someone how they should feel.
Make it personal
Add their name, mention a favourite moment from the year and sign off in your own way. On eligible Artsy designs, you can personalise the front and choose a printed inside message on the product page.
